Product Review Saturday: Emma & Tom's

Emma & Tom's is an Australian owned company that specialises in fresh, healthy and nutritious drinks and bars.

You all know how much of a fan I am of stevia, so it only seemed right to review Emma & Tom's as they are currently one of the few Australian companies using stevia.

I reached out to them and they were kind enough to send me a bag full of a few of their products.

Inside I found one of each of their Sparkling drinks, all four of their Life Bars and Coconut Water.

Also available from Emma & Tom's are:

* Quenchers
* Wellbeing Waters
* Quenchers With Benefits

Now to the taste test and my review...

Dates are the main ingredient in all four of the bars. They give a nice, natural sweetness to the bars without overpowering the other flavours paired with it.

I'm not a huge banana fan, but even I enjoyed the Banana with Chia bar. The almonds and omega 3- packed chia seeds teamed with the banana chips and dates really won me over. Maybe if I eat this bar often enough it will help me change my mind about bananas.

The Cacao & Orange and Fig & Lemon with Chia were my two favourites. I love anything with citrus and these did not disappoint.

The Fig & Lemon with Chia was such a burst of freshness in my mouth and the Cacao & Orange satisfied my always lingering chocolate cravings.

Don't let the fact that these bars are completely raw scare you. With only four or five ingredients in each bar, you're avoiding all those hidden nasties often found in other so-called healthy snack bars.

These are great for when you're on the go and need a quick snack. Emma & Tom's Life Bars are all under 170 calories and full of protein, fibre and healthy fats, with no added sugar.

Emma & Tom's pride themselves on this product being 100% Coconut Water. There is absolutely nothing else added, the same benefits for you as opening a fresh coconut, but far more convenient.

It has such a clean and crisp flavour and by far the best coconut water I've tasted to date.

Rather than grabbing for those sugar-filled sports drinks after a gruelling workout, give coconut water a try. Due to its high mineral and potassium levels, coconut water replaces your body's electrolyte levels and re-hydrates you during/after exercise.

You don't just have to drink coconut water as is, you can have some fun with it.

I infused mine with Black Cherry, Blueberry and Peach Passion Celestial Seasonings teabags for 15 minutes and then poured into my new gem-shaped silicone moulds.

After a couple of hours in the freezer they came out like this:

A nice refreshing addition to a glass of coconut water or sparkling water on a hot day. You could even make icy poles for your kids using the same process, rather than giving them store-bought ones that are full of processed sugars.

There's something special about these Sparkling drinks that put them in a class of their own.

Unlike other sparkling drinks on the market, they're made entirely of natural ingredients. Artificial flavourings and sugars are not required, as the combination of flavours work so well together.

All five are under 80 calories, with only natural sugars from the fruit juice and stevia leaf extract.

 I don't know what kind of magic they've weaved, but this Sparkling range gave me the feeling of drinking an alcoholic beverage. I would quite happily take these with me to a BBQ or party rather than alcohol and not feel as though I am missing out

For me these were far more satisfying and refreshing than a normal soda/soft drink. The Natural Cola and Cloudy Lemon were my favourites.

Overall, I have to say I am impressed with Emma & Tom's. Their knowledge and use of natural ingredients has lead to the creation of these delicious products.

Whether you're wanting to watch your sugar intake (or cut it out completely), eat less heavily processed foods or want to try something new, Emma & Tom's is sure to have something you'll love.
