[Product Review] Natural Max Skinny Fast Hunger Rescue Diet Shake

If you're a little confused as to why I would be reviewing a product with the words 'skinny' and 'diet' in the name, don't be. Believe me, I was just as wary when I first read the title, but after looking into it, this stacks up quite well.

Essentially this product from Natural Max is a protein powder, but as with many health food products on the market, it's being marketed as some quick-fix for weight loss.

Now, I am in no way promoting extremely low calorie diets or substituting meals with diet shakes. However, this product is actually perfect for a post-workout protein shake or used in recipes, some of which I've posted on the blog.

I found this product when searching iHerb.com for other brands of naturally-sweetened protein powders. It is quite reasonably priced as far as protein powders go ($17.63 for 483g) and use xylitol and stevia rather than sucralose and all those other questionable sweeteners used by many big-name supplement companies.

The protein blend is different to that of other brands I've tired. Rather than just whey protein with natural flavour and stevia, the mix also contains chia, hemp and flax for some essential fatty acids. For a full list of ingredients click here

Even mixed simply with water, the chocolate flavour is rich and delicious, but added with milk makes for a heavenly, but healthy, chocolate milkshake.

If anything this has reinforced the importance of reading a product's ingredients list before purchasing; sometimes you find a good surprise in the bunch.
