Peaches & Chia Jam

With fruit and chia jams now hitting the shelves of your local supermarket, don't get suckered into paying exorbitant prices for something which is so easy to make at home. All you need is some canned fruit (minus the juice), or in this instance a fruit pouch, and some chia seeds. It may not be quite as thick but it still does the job.

This jam is delicious slathered on a nice toasty piece of bread, atop of scones or even added to smoothies.

Try the recipe out with your favourite canned fruits (apricots or pears), or increase the cooking time to make a apple and rhubarb version - the ultimate stewed winter fruits.

1 Pouch of Freshfields Fast & Fruity in Peach
4 Tbsp Chia Seeds

The first step is optional: for a smoother jam you can blend the contents of the fruit pouch until smooth
Or simply just add to a saucepan and simmer on a low heat for 5 minutes
Add the chia seeds, stir well and allow to cook for another 2-3 minutes
Allow to cool before storing in a jar in the fridge
